I bought this soft starter along with the easy installation kit so I could use my air conditioner while using natural gas on my generator without having to power manage. I contacted their customer service through FB messenger asking for their assistance on the install, I gave them a picture of the wiring diagram and a picture of the inside of the AC panel. They responded within an hour and said they would get back to me the day after. Received the instructions that morning and took less than 1 hour to install with their easy to understand instructions!

Works great on a 4 Ton package unit for my manufactured home. Runs off a 7000 Watt running generator with no issues. Living in a southern state without power and no A/C can be deadly. It's always good to be prepared.

I don't normally write reviews unless there is a problem with the unit. I recently installed this on my 5 ton Trane unit and the start up is night and day compared to before installation. No bang sound on the start from the inrush amps. I didn't have a meter to check the pre-installation level of inrush amps, but they are now averaging around 30 amps. My unit has a LRA of 154. I have been telling everyone I know about this unit as living in the South with Hurricanes and no AC is zero fun. Now I am covered. Color me impressed.

I own a small HVAC company in Mississippi and now have a portable generator with 9500 operating watts or 39.58 amps. My crusty 10 seer condenser had 60 amps inrush on start up before settling down. Now with my ASY-398-X1S-BL starting amps are 20-25 before settling to 18 amps. I was able to install the box in my condenser electrical panel and the installation was simple. Went from 107 LRA on my 4 ton AC to 32.1 peak amps. Was relatively straight-forward to install by someone who really doesn't have too much of a clue about HVAC stuff. Can now power my AC with a portable generator and couldn't be happier. Great product, and the bluetooth is an absolutely brilliant touch.

Living in Houston TX you need AC, and a backup generator. During hurricane Beryl we were without power for almost two weeks. The generator working, but definitely bogged down when we ran the 3.5t unit (only ran one unit). Just had two flex soft starts installed on 3.5 and 5t Carrier units. They are audibly smoother. Fingers crossed.

Ordered EasyStart Flex Bluetooth and install kit. After receiving everything I studied I install info on the website with York wiring diagram and youtube. Install went smoothly. Shortened wiring to fit enclosure. I had it installed in about 45 minuites being a DIY. Should have read instructions closer. Missed that Bluetooth only connects when unit is running. It's funny, got it installed just as the weather cooled. Hoping for some hot days to do a real test.
