We ordered the Easy Start with some hesitancy because it wasn't cheap, would it really work? Within one day we had it installed, "trained", and running our Dometic Penguin 13.5 (with heat pump) off of one Honda eu2000i! We love our Honda generator but were just about to buy a 2nd cheaper higher capacity generator for those few times when we want to run AC on our Vintage Airstream. But now there is no need--we can run one awesome product (the Honda eu2000i which I also highly recommend) using another awesome product (the Easy Start). We had two easily solved install questions/issues--one was because there was more than one white wire (put them on the wrong terminals the first time). The other was because we had forgotten that our refrigerator was still running on shore power (which meant the generator couldn't handle running both the AC and the fridge at the same time, not a problem with the Easy Start product)--turned it off and the Easy Start worked like a charm. Anyone who has struggled with running a small AC off a portable generator will understand the excitement surrounding this product!

This is the new AC series from Dometic. The AC rooftop unit is so compact that I ended up installing the EasyStart 364 controller in the return air duct. The Dometic AC controller for the fan and compressor also shares the return air duct. Based upon this location, I had to extend two wires of the EasyStart 364 controller to connect the compressors's run capacitor. I used 12 AWG wire to match the EasyStart wires. Note that the capacitor is shared capacitor. One lug is for the fan motor and the other lug is for the compressor. The third lug is connected to the neutral wire. Once wiring was completed, preformed the 5 initial start-ups. All went well. Compressor starts up so quietly that I had to check the air flow to see if it was blowing cold air. After this, I tested the AC on a 3000 watt generator in the Econ mode. The generator never missed a beat as the AC compressor cycled on and off. The generator would only load up when the compressor was running. Prior to the installation of the EasyStart module, often the generator would trip when the compressor would start up.

After purchasing a new coach, my pair of EU2000i's could't power on the Dometic Brisk II 15k while on Eco mode. Both generators needed to be powered on at full power to reliably start the AC. If the fan on my unit was on high, it would cause a brown out in my coach when the compressor started and all the 120v appliances would turn off. To combat this I picked up a EastStart 364 from their offices in NJ. The installation was fairly easy once you have identified all the wires. Once I have completed the learning procedure, I tested again from a single EU2000i. To my amazement one eco mode I was able to start up the AC reliably, I am totally blown away! It is literally the most exciting and best purchase I have ever made for my coach. According to my clamp on amp meter it registered approximately a spike of 20amps when the compressor first started. On my coach I was able to run the AC, fan on high and the refrigerator on 120v power all from a single EU2000i. Worth every penny!

Very happy, the unit does exactly what it is advertized to do and allows me to run my 13.5k AC off of not only my eu2000 and onan 4000 microquiet gen but also off of my 2000w inverter/solar/battery system...... The only issue I had was with the installation..... my AC unit is a heat pump so not only does it have AC but it has a reversing valve to supply heat when needed. This added quite a few additional wires and safety switches to figure out. The total install time took only 15-30min and was ultimately very easy......but..... I started the install on saturday morning only to find out my AC had a different wiring configuration than any of the videos or installation manual coved. So I had to wait until monday to talk to tech support (as they are not open on the weekends) to get the proper wiring configuration for my AC. It would be nice for MicroAir to supply a few additional wiring diagrams showing more installation configurations of common AC units on the market.

I purchased and installed unit, went through the learning procedure and yes it starts rv ac unit much nicer, and does it using one generator in eco mode. however what other reviewers fail to mention is the unit just isn't for starting. it keeps on working after your ac unit is started and is now running. monitoring 5 parameters. keeping compressor from seeing issues from brown outs in campgrounds, watching out for voltage spikes, in real time conditions. it also has time delay protection. most rv ac units just have mechanical controls. but with a ez smart soft starter wired in, you also get a added bonus of a time delay. this prevents stalled start up attempts, you can and will experience with just mechanical controls. it is these features that sets the micro air device ahead of the pack. and as a added bonus, they are made in the good old USA. this device is indeed the biggest bang for your buck. it is a sound investment.. thank you ez start!

I have a portable HD satellite dish system that I set up. Recently we stayed at a campsite with no electricity. I have 2 Honda 2000 generators that I only run at the same time when I have to run air conditioning. During this stay, with both running, the satellite receiver would get rebooted every time to the air conditioner started. I had some programs I wanted to record and watch and couldn't tolerate this so we turned off the air conditioning on a hot humid day. Before this outing I had installed a 'hard start' hoping to avoid this very problem. I was aware of Easy Start and vowed that this is not going to happen again. After installing Easy Start, the air conditioning operates on one generator with no problem. I haven't yet tested the satellite/air conditioner with one generator, but my guess is there would be no problem. In order to be safe with all systems operating I will run both generators.

Purchased a new RV with Coleman 15,000 btu A/C. When summer came around I decided to purchase a champion 4000 peak / 3500 running watt generator. Even though it was advertised as running most 15k A/C units, it would not power mine reliably and struggle to start it. I contacted micro-air with many questions and they took the time to explain everything to me in great detail (even on a weekend after hours). When my easy start arrived I had it installed in less than 45 mins. My generator now starts my a/c effortlessly even from economy mode. Not only that, but I can run pretty much everything else in the rv at the same time now since the A/C no longer requires a huge start-up current, which would overload the generator before, what an amazing difference the Ez-start makes! Highly recommended! This will be one of the first add-ons I install on any future RV purchase.

After much research I purchased the Honda EU2000i generator for my 2016 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe travel trailer. The first time I started it up, and turned on the AC in the RV the generator stalled. After waiting several minutes I tried again, and again it stalled. You can't imagine how disappointed I was. Eventually it did run the AC, (but only on full throttle) and nothing else. I purchased the Easy Start 364 and I mounted it in the unit myself, I did loose my nerve and called an AC man (a friend) to come wire it for me. Unbelievable! Sweet!. It really did make a world of difference. Not only does it run the AC, but seams to run anything else in the RV at the same time without any trouble. Yes I would recommend this product to anyone, even if you have to pay an AC pro to install it, it is worth it!

I purchased the new Honda EG2800i inverter generator and my new Dometic Duo Therm Brisk Air 2 would immediately die and the main breaker in our new travel trailer would flip off. So after my rather complete search for a possible cure for the problem I purchased the Microair Easy Start and installed it myself. Following the instructions and starting the air conditioner while the unit was plugged into my home I could immediately hear the difference in the starting of the compressor. It is so much quieter is is actually amazing. After my 5 restarts I started my generator and the air conditioner works perfectly off of it now. How nice and what a great solution. I am very pleased and would recommend this product to anyone.

I purchased 2 EasyStarts, one for myself and one for a friend. DIY installation was easy. The compressor start up is very quite now, no more 'THUMP'. . Before installing the ES on my friends RV, we tried starting his 13,500 btu A/C using his single Honda EU2000i generator. With the Honda in ECO mode, the A/C fan running on low, we tried to start the compressor. The Honda went into overload and then disconnected from the load. After installing the ES (and performing the 5 starts on utility power) we performed the same test. The A/C started fine and the overload light on the Honda didn't even flicker. The EasyStart should be standard equipment on all RV air conditioners. Thanks again for a great product.
