I was hesitant to make my own syrup b/c it seemed super complicated but this mix is basically idiot proof. All you need to add is water and raw honey. It's really important to simmer it on low, any higher and you'll lose too much syrup and it won't be the right mix. Keep an eye on it and stir it so the berries don't stick to the bottom or burn. I let mine steep overnight in a small cheesecloth bag and the flavor profile is awesome. Its heavy on the clove, but the honey mixed very well with it so my kids drink it happily. It's important to mix the honey in slowly and stir it until its totally dissolved. If you don't, it's clumpy and gross. We keep ours in glass milk bottle and every morning I have to shake it to redistribute the goodness that sank to the bottom so that each dose is a full mix of all the good stuff. I don't honestly see how anyone can leave a bad review, unless they just hate elderberry or totally botched the cooking process somehow. The instructions on the bag are extremely simple and user friendly, the quality of the ingredients are top notch. I will never buy anything else. I'll be making my own elderberry brew from now on! Recieved my product today and made it immediately! Packaging was adequate. Arrived a day ahead of schedule. Bag included easy to follow instructions. I added local raw honey. My son said it tastes like Christmas. I have already recommended it to friends and will be ordering more!

I have been buying this kit for a couple of years now. It's so easy to make and has the best flavor. It works great! Highly recommend.
