Ruby is a fire inspector and a part time bartender. She also has a fire fetish, which is one of the reasons she bartends at Purgatory Club. At the club, she can relax and indulge in her love of fire with likeminded adults. Zane performs with fire and he has wanted Ruby from the first time she assisted in one of his shows. There's a problem though. Zane is a Dom, and Ruby has no desire at all to be a Submissive.I loved this book. I loved how it introduced me to Ruby's fire fetish, and I especially loved the very adult way the characters discussed the roles of Dom and Sub in the context of their relationship. This very pragmatic discussion was done so well, it was downright sexy. There were scenes of vanilla sex, fire work, and more. Totally hot. The only thing keeping me from five stars on this one is the strange fainting incident that seemed a heavy handed plot device to get Ruby into Zane's house.

The coming together of two souls burned in flame. This was one of the author's best. I would have liked to have seen this story go a little deeper, but Zane is a character that won't soon been leaving me. Ruby has a inner connection to fire, so does Zane...together they burn the brightest.I finished this story over 24 hours ago and it's still resonating with me. That's how powerful the emotion of this story is.

Out of all the novellas so fair this one was my favorite. It seemed easy to swallow that the relationship between Zane and Ruby could work. They are kindred spirits and it works. It is a quick short read but great.

I really enjoyed this but it all felt a bit rushed and I think the story ended a bit abruptly which was a bit disappointing

Despite the intense attraction she felt for him, Ruby learned Zane was a Dom and she refused to be his submissive ... or anyone's submissive for that matter. But Zane has never felt so strongly for any woman the way he feels for Ruby. He knows that she is his. He just needs to find out what she's so afraid of.I found this story very enjoyable, particularly the fire play. I don't know anything about BDSM other than what I've read in books but fire play was certainly something new for me as a reader and I found I loved it. But it wasn't just the play or the sex or the dominance of Zane that I liked, it was also the story behind why Ruby is so against the whole dom/sub situation.Regarding the writing and perhaps the Kindle formatting, I did find some issues but they were minor.I look forward to reading more from Eliza Gayle!NOTE: I received a copy of Burned from the author for a giveaway win at a book review blog.

I totally loved the fact you have a Fire investigator , and a Dominant who deals in Fire play fall for each other A match (excuse the pun) made in Erotic heaven. Zane is everything you could want in a Dom, Bald ,Sexy, 100%Alpha male with his eye and heart set firmly on Ruby. Ruby a strong willed beautiful woman who doesn't see herself as any mans property.... This story grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go

I've never heard of fire play before, but I loved Zane and Ruby's story! She is a fire investigator and he's the hot Dom at the club that demos fire play. She's the moth to his flame, but her hang ups from her background try to stop their relationship before it can get started! But he will not be deterred.

This story is a little different from most BDSM, in that fire play is definitely not something I want to try, but wow the erotic feel from this story made me want to be there in that place and that time doing that stuff. Another amazing story from an author that always delivers wonderful stories. Do not miss this because you think you don't want to do this particular type of play.

Ruby has been obsessed with fire and she's drawn to submission but she's in big denial about that even when watching Zane the Dom playing with fire. This seems like a pretty normal story set up but this story adds a few elements that make it unique. Ruby comes from a lifestyle family and she knows she's not like her mom so she's having a hard time realizing that she can be submissive but on a totally different level. Also, her fascination with fire had led her to change from firefighter to investigator for her own safety. It is interesting to watch her battle with herself to figure out what she needs and that its okay to want it.

Burned - this story was an enjoyable read. Ruby has to face working with Zane; she isn't looking forward to it because there is something about him that eats at her. She doesn't understand why she has such a reaction to him. She doesn't consider herself to be submissive or dominant but Zane's ability to manipulate fire intrigues her. My experience as it relates to this type of lifestyle only comes from the books I have read but I do not recall ever reading about fire play. Fire play maybe a new subject but it did catch my attention. At times I remember being scared about how a scene would turn out with that type of play. Eliza Gayle is one of my preferred BDSM authors. Her stories draw you in and make you feel the things the characters feel.

i read this seriesall in one day. i just found eliza gayle as a writer. i like that she pulls her characters into other books.

This was a great short! I have never thought about fire this way. excellent writing. I would love to read more from the same author.

Tried the sample first and had to read the rest. Rather short, yet leaves you tingling. Read another by same author--thought enjoyed every minute!
