If you've never tried hydrogel pads, you're in for a treat! I'm an incredibly accident prone person. I burn myself about 90% of the time while cooking/baking and occasionally crash my bicycle resulting in a nasty scrape with missing skin. The great thing about these pads is how they are moist and will instantly lower your pain level. I've had bad burns that have blistered become painless overnight when using hydrogel patches. The blister will still need to time heal but I've experienced zero pain after 24hrs with hydrogel patches. There's no other treatment for burns that I've found that can do that. I remove the hydrogel after 24hrs and then protect the blister and try to keep it intact with regular band-aids. Scrapes take longer to heal because of the deeper exposed layers of the skin so you would want to keep the hydrogel on the wound as long as possible and then replace it if needed. A huge plus to this brand is that it contains antibacterial silver! You will need to have medical tape on hand to secure these pads because they just lay on top of the wound. I use a piece of sterile gauze to cover the hydrogel and then apply tape over the gauze. You can cut both, the hydrogel and the gauze to fit!! TIP!! Only use enough of the hydrogel pad to cover the wound. Cut it to the size you need and SAVE the unused portion for another time. seal it in the original packaging the best you can then place that in a plastic lunch baggy. Press the air out and seal it! You be glad you did the next time you burned yourself while cooking. It doesn't matter if there is a blister or not, cover it with hydrogel and it will feel better fast! If you find the hydrogel has dried out, it is possible to reconstitute it with sterile water - ie. bottled water works. It won't be ask plump as it was new but it still works in a pinch. Don't forget to order some medical tape & gauze at the same time you order the patches. The gauze isn't required but I feel it keeps the hydrogel in place & protected.

Turf burns and other abrasions that scrape the top layer of skin off can be very painful, especially if they're over a flexible joint such as the knee or elbow. Regular bandages help blot drainage and keep dirt out, but they also keep the wound dry, so scabs form which make it even more painful every time you move the affected joint. Unlike regular bandages, these hydrogel dressings have an immediate cooling and soothing effect on the skin that reduces pain, and they are more flexible as well which makes them particularly useful when treating joint injuries. The hydrogel pads don't have any adhesive to stick to a wound, so once you lay them on the wound with the gel side down you need to secure them in place with something such as athletic wrap, gauze wrap, or another breathable dressing such as Tegaderm. I prefer to use a Tegaderm dressing over the hydrogel pad because you can leave it in place for several days and even shower with it on, so you don't need to disturb the wound as often. These hydrogel pads help turf burns, abrasions, lacerations, minor burns skin ulcers and other superficial wounds heal faster than regular bandages by keeping the wound area moist. A moist dressing helps skin cells regenerate faster, helps the body absorb dead or damaged tissue, reduces the formation of scabs and scars, and reduces pain signals to nerve endings. Injuries heals faster, don't hurt as much, and even look better when using a hydrogel pad rather than a dry bandage dressing. These hydrogel pads have silver woven into the fabric which helps prevent infection as your wound heals, so in addition to turf burns and abrasions, they would be very helpful in treating non-full thickness burns, early-stage pressure sores, healing surgical sites, or minor lacerations. You don't have to be an athlete to get scrapes, minor cuts or burns, so I highly recommend having some of these hydrogel pads in your arsenal of first aid supplies - especially if you have kids!

As physically active as our kids are, we keep a medical kit ready for all situations. Having gauze and bandages of all sizes is a must. I’m adding this TurfGaurd dressing as an alternative option for rug burns which they’re very prone to do, and now we’re adding gymnasium floor burns to the list due to inside sports. These are difficult to treat considering the larger area of open skin wound, so TurfGaurd is a no brainer. I like that the gel side of the dressing goes directly on the wound (after cleaning) so we don’t have to worry about gauze threads sticking anymore. This product could be kept on the wound for up to seven days, but we don’t do more than a couple days to allow for the initial pain & healing, then it needs to be exposed to air for natural care. I suppose the only complaint I have is that this product expects you to provide your own bandage wrap over the dressing. I find this is necessary to provide additional protection, to keep the dressing especially clean if worn for multiple days, and simply to act as a reminder for people to stay away. We have plenty of bandage wraps so this isn’t a major issue for me…but for those that don’t, you need to take buying a wrap into consideration of the cost. The price of this TurfGuard is a bit high at $3 per dressing already. But altogether the product works and it’s a unique solution for a specific wound type. A must-add now in our house.

I thought I'd have to wait for better weather when my kid gets back on his bicycle before trying this product. He gets lots scrapes being a typical 7-year-old boy in Montana and I thought these patches might help. Then, over the weekend, my boy developed a raw, red, chapped, burn-like area above his upper lip. It's pretty common for kids to get this in the windy, cold wintertime. He said, "it hurts soooo bad!!! I hate it!!!" I tried cutting a small piece from one of the patches and put it on him, covering it with a band-aid. I told him not to let it get in his mouth. Well it looks funny on his face, but we were both amazed! He said, "Ooooh it feels soooo good!!!!" He asked me to put it on him again today before school. No mom wants their child to be in pain and this product works! Extremely happy with this product. Recommended for every mom of hazardous kids and every first aid kit or medicine cabinet!

I haven't opened these since I currently don't have any injuries (currently...), but these are a great addition to my first aid kit. Feeling them through the wrapping it feels very much like a gel insole! At least that is what it reminds me of, and really I think it would feel good on a scraped knee or elbow. It is very supple and flexible, coupled with a self adhesive wrap or ACE bandage I think this would be perfect for those road/dirt/grass rashes you get that aren't very deep but cover a good amount of area. The packaging is foil-like on one side and clean plastic on the other. Instructions and all written components are all well composed and confidence inspiring. I don't look forward to using this, but when I need it I'm sure I'll be glad I have some.

In my house there are two girls of 3 and 4 years old, they are wild when they play. One of them fell on the sidewalk and scraped her knee. I remembered that I had these patches in the first aid kit and I put one on the wound after cleaned the wound. She liked it a lot because it felt cold and it calmed her pain. About two weeks later I burned myself cooking with the steam that came out of the pots... I applied those cream that are made to treat burns and that burning did not go away. Well, I remembered that the girl had told me that the patches felt cold and so I tried one. And OMG, yes, it feels very refreshing, the pain I had was greatly relieved, and after two days the pain was completely gone.

I got into an accident on my road bike and got major road rash on my knee and shin and thigh. I’ve been here before and knew that once its clean healing isn’t going to be fast. The bandages and leg hair sticking to this weird wet wound that had to be changed all the time. Eventually I give up and let dry out and scab over because it seems better than the alternative. Immediately when it happened I searched amazon for something better. This. Is. Better. It doesn’t stick to the wound and it seems to let the skin heal into healthy skin instead of the alternatives. Try it. I hope they make a bigger size by the time i need it again.

I managed to burn myself making Thanksgiving dinner, and I could not find my first aid kit with my burn gel in it. I was happy to see these available in the vine program. If you've never used these before, the instructions printed on the back of the package. They are simple and easy to understand. You'll need an ace bandage or maybe some surgical tape to wrap over the dressing to hold it in place; these are not included in this package. The price is a bit high, but for first aid supplies, I tend to err on the side of expense. Better to have them when you need them rather than hold off because of the price and then go without.

These Wound Dressings are really great. They feel really soothing when I have a burn. There is a nice cooling feeling from the hydrogel. I love these, they are super nice to have around. Never know when you'll need them. It seemed like I healed much faster than a regular bandaid. There is 6 in a box. But they are a good size, so depending on the would or burn. I will be able to cut these down to a smaller size and have more than just 6 dressings. I love that they are antimicrobial, kills 99% of Staph, MRSA, and Strep, Instantly Cooling, FDA cleared and they work amazing. I will be buying more of these in the future. =)

No matter what I always manage to burn myself while cooking for family get togethers. We had our Christmas party this last weekend since all the adults in our immediate family work Christmas Eve and day. And as pure usual I burned myself. I know these say for grass burns but these work wonders for actual burns as well. I cut just large to cover said burn with some wiggle room used some self adhering bandage wrap and called it a day. Here I am almost 3 days post burn and it feels way better than anything else I have ever used. Definitely recommend for the kitchen accident prone person.

These TURFGUARD hydrogel burn and wound pads are so much better than a regular bandage. I applied a TURGUARD hydrogel pad to my scraped leg and felt the cooling, soothing effect of the pad, which eased the pain in my leg. I also like that the pad contains X-static silver, which helped my injury heal quicker. The pads do not have any adhesive, so you need to use a gauze roll and medical tape to keep the pad in place. If you want quick pain relief when you have a burn or scrape, order these pads. some of these pads.

Luckily I haven't had to use any of these wound dressings, but they look to be good quality and would aid in the healing of turf burn and possibly other light wound injuries. I've already switched to hydrocolloid bandages when possible, which heals those cuts and scrapes much faster than traditional bandages. These dressings appear to be similar material with addition of silver/being antimicrobial so I imagine they would similarly speed heading of injuries. These are also made in USA.

This package of Turfguard Turf Burn and Wound Dressing, Hydrogel Pads with X-Static Silver from The Medagel Store came as six in the package, they are 2" x 3" in size. These are easy to apply and feel nice and cooling on minor burns. You do have to cover with a dressing though as these have no adhesive on them. This dressing can be left on for a few days, no longer than four I believe before changing as long as the wound is not weeping. These are good to have in a first aid kit.

Right after receiving these I had I had an accident on my road bike. I ended up with quite a bit of road rash on my hip and right elbow. My go-to is tegaderm but I opted to use this turf guard held in place with standard bandages. It works well at absorbing the oozy goop that comes from road rash. I think I might have healed a lot faster with this than without it. I could certainly feel the difference. I'm glad I had these available. I am shocked at the price though.

These are definitely a must have for turf burns, it helps sooth the burn and protects it from getting infected. I like to keep these in our bags at all times especially where my grandkids play sports. These help to sooth and keep it nice and cool. You can also cut these to make smaller if needed. If you have anybody that plays on a field this is great to have in case you need them. They really help to protect your wound. I would purchase again!! Would Recommend!!
