Great but you need big hands
Low tones sound amazing, but you need big hands and strong breath. The flute has around 2 inch diameter and the holes are around 1.5 inches apart. I suggest trying a low D or low C whistle first -- if you can do the finger stretch and sustain the low notes, then try this contrabass. Expensive but worth it!

Ordered from UK, simple and surprisingly quick delivery. Bottom A is lovely, this is the most challenging of my flutes to control the air flow but will add to my skill. The sound is worth the effort it is haunting. Lovely quality build placed my second order a few days after receipt. Thanks very much.

I waited to post a review until after testing this new flute, and expectations were definitely surpassed. This flute's deep voice resonates a calm & tranquil tone, especially wherever an echo chamber is present. What I enjoy most about these new bass flute designs is they allow easier reach; making them easier to play. Thank you, High Spirits.

I got my new flute delivered to Luxembourg (Europe) today. Even three days earlier than planned. It is my fifth Native American Style flute from High Spirits. When I opened the package I was blown away by this beautiful instrument. After looking at it for a long time, I immediately started playing it. Since it was still a bit cold from being transported in the van, the first few tones were a little crooked. After a few tries, it worked very well. This contrabass flute in A minor sounds wonderful. It has a very warm, melancholic sound. Fantastic!!! It is as easy to play as my Condor Bass Earthtone flute in D minor. This flute is an asset to my collection. I'm delighted with the sound. I'm happy that I ordered this flute. It won't be my last High Spirits flute! Many thanks dear Mister Odell Borg for these and all my other flutes (I ordered my other flutes from Germany and the Netherlands) Stay healthy!!! Arsène Kreins from Luxembourg (Europe)

This flute arrived yesterday, and at that first, resonant bass A, I was a goner. This is my eighth High Spirits flute, and I have charmed many people with my bass C, a walnut flute that I have called my "crowd-pleaser." But oh my, this cedar flute maintains a rich tonal quality throughout its range, and that low A note is absolutely delicious. It does take quite a bit of breath, and players with small hands might find the spread of the finger holes challenging (just under a three-inch spread for each set of three holes). But I consider my hands an average (male) size, and I don't find the spacing difficult. I'm looking forward to exploring all that this flute can produce. To quote Humphrey Bogart, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
