I've received the Sparrow Hawk-A just now! It's a wonderful flute; nice appear and good sound.

This is my first flute,it was a gift from my wife and daughter.It just happens to be the best beginer flute out their it`s been 3 years now and I still injoy playing it.So if you are looking for the perfict flute or just want a great sounding flute this is the one to buy.

this sparrow hawk flute is such a beautiful instrument. the wood is absolutely beautiful, the craftsmanship is amazing, and its haunting sound is divine and very pleasing to the ear. i had a hard time trying to play it because i just wanted to stare at it the whole time..it is absolutely beautiful. it is very easy to learn and also very peaceful to listen to. this flute will not be my last bought from high spirits. you will not be disappointed.

Sparrow Hawk w/ Turquoise Inlay _ A _ Walnut: This flute has a happy voice and the nice, clean sound associated with a hardwood. It is a responsive flute and you can easily reach four half steps above the octave. The low notes are also good. It is a very attractive flute and would make a fine gift for beginners or advanced players.

Early this year learned how to play soprano and tenor recorder i bought the sparrow hawk A in Ellicot City ,Md after being allowed to test a few of them . There was a CD playing muzak of flute music. When i began fingering notes ad lib for a couple measures the muzak played the same notes right after. My sister in law and i noted this and laughed I sked if she heard that she did. So after I fingered a few more measures and stopped,the CD music played the same measures . At this point my sister in law has her eyes widened and i laugh. So i say "there is no way it could happen again ,coincidence" So i play a few measures of notes and sure enough the CD played the same .I am not a long time musician and only last spring learned to read music . I joked"OK, I am offially freaked out " and put the flute down and took the business card with the name of the flute on it . After window shopping with my sister i law and thinking about it for a bit, I go back and get my flute . BTW my birds love the music too

I recently purchased the Sparrow Hawk flute in West Yellowstone Montana. After listening to several other flutes, this one in particular really spoke to me. Within two days I was creating my own melodies and can even play Amazing Grace. What a heart warming voice it has. I am eager to make another purchase for my collection. I want to move towards the soft melodic tones of the lower octaves. I want to visit the bison in Yellowstone and let it sing to them. I feel the "A" flute was the one instrument that really proved to me that I can play these and let my spirit reach out in a way my own voice cannot. Thank you Odell.

I've played both the cedar and just received the walnut Sparrow Hawk in "A". Absolutely gorgeous instrument with delicious tone! Very affordable, fun, and easy to play. Great for experienced players or as an entry-level flute for beginners. I will gather accessories for my flute from time to time until I have saved up and am ready to buy my next flute, which will probably be a cedar Golden Eagle in F#. Thank you High Spirits Flutes!

I received my key A miner, walnut flute to day, and love it. It is very easy to play, I play tin whistles so I thought this flute would require a lot of air like my key c whistle, but not at all. It sounds so mellow and deep, I could not be happier. Plus the package arrived very quickly and before the expected arrival date. Its comfortble to hold, and the mouth hole is also very comfortible. I'm a beginner with the love flute, but with the tabs given in the little booklet I'll be able to pick it quickly. The change of breath between notes is not as touchy like a whistle, the switch is easy and smooth once you get the hang of it. And there are notes that are just beautiful!

I have had my flute for a few months now to give it an honest review and it instantly has become my favorite flute! The voice is very rich and beautiful, it’s very comfortable to play, and you can truly see the craftsmanship they put into their flutes. This is a must have for anyone interested in Native flutes!!

Got this flute for myself and not disappointed at all ! it has a nice tung oil finish which preserves the wood without deadening the tone that a polyurethane or lacquer can . i build electric guitars and always use an oil finish . and the intonation is in my opinion is great if you blow just right the note is right there. i got the flute and a spirit flute for my wife and only took three days , Ben who took my order was very nice and accommodating was a pleasure to talk to . i had very little trouble playing it the first time even though I'm not experienced but i do play harmonica a little so that may have helped and trumpet years and years ago in school . bottom line is they are quality made and not in China but in the good old USA by people who take pride in their work , and i don't mind the price for that very reason . i believe anyone can play this flute, as all it takes is a little practice and i mean very little practice to play something from your spirit self . the book that comes with it is easy to read and understand , the CD even more informative . the only problem is there like potato chips , one Isn't enough Ha! I already know i want another one . well not to soon but soon enough :)
