My father has dementia and we have struggled with new remotes. Too many buttons, too small of buttons, menu buttons and on and on. I bought other simple remotes, but the same issue was there. He had a setup top box and tv that he would need to turn on and off and know to select the right step. The assisted living remote only turned off the tv, but too many other buttons and horrible IR beam. Flipper to the rescue. I programmed the tv with a code (Samsung). I used the auto code search for the FALCON brand set top box. It found a code that worked. I next set it up to only turn off the TV with the power button. Volume for the TV and the box for the channels. AMAZING. Instead of using the favorites stored in the remote, I was able to hide the channels with the set top box menu. Reducing the 60 channels down to the 15 that he may actually watch. Customer service was also very helpful. The gentleman on the phone actually suggested setting the channel selection favorites within the box to make it quicker. Perfect. Thank you.

We located this Flipper remote searching for a simplified way to allow our 90-year old father to enjoy some independence in his TV viewing. We had purchased a new Samsung TV specifically because of our familiarity with the Samsung remote. As good as the Samsung unit is, he was not able to master it. Full disclosure; with instructions supplied with the Flipper I was unable to sync it to the TV to allow the simple up/down function of a small number of favorite channels. I was able to talk thru the issue with Flipper’s customer support person Dan, who went the extra mile and worked out set up issues with the TV that was causing some of my problems.i’ve gone to the staff of my father’s assisted living facility with the suggestion that all residents upgrade to Flippers. Kudos again to Dan on the support end. He is a model for the customer support industry!

Our Flipper remote arrived yesterday and I couldn't be happier. It's a simple, ergonomic unit that's easy to program and a snap to operate, controlling our LG TV and Spectrum cable box perfectly. It's going to make a big difference for my significant other, who's elderly and has vision problems along with cognitive ones. Over and above the quality of the unit itself, I was blown away by the customer service. How often do you find a company these days that communicates with you promptly and clearly, even over the weekend, to answer your questions? Thank you, Dan! I only wish more companies were like yours.

Instructions were really hard to follow for set up. In UK couldn't get this to work at all. Trying to pair with JVC 40" led smart fhd android tv Model LT-40CA790 Couldnt find code. I tried to pair with existing JVC remote. Got on off button working but not channel or tv. they both operated the TV channel going in one direction. After an hour I gave up. Watched a video which wasn't too helpful. Mum is 94 and really needs a simple remote. ANY HELP PLEASE

I called their service line and got immediate help. They were patient and spent a good deal of time walking me through each step to make sure everything was connected and working. My mother-in-law, who was so confused with managing two remotes, loves the simplicity of this product. Thank you!

Bought this for my wife’s aging mom who has difficulty with new technology and remotes in general. She only watches 3 different channels. I personally had a tough time syncing the tv up with the remote. Like others have said in the comment section. Very helpful folks. They got it running in like 2 minutes. Works great.

This was purchased for my 100 year old mother who was struggling using multiple remotes (e.g. tv, cable box). She was confused by which remote worked which function. This simple remote solved the problem and now I have a happy 100 year old mother and I don't get daily calls on "How do I ....."!

Purchased this for my 92 year old father for his TV and Cable Box in his senior living facility. There was no way he could maneuver 2 remotes to enjoy his TV. Before he had to turn on TV with TV remote, then click Source to move to cable. Once cable was on, he had to use Cable remote to change channels but use the TV remote to adjust volume. Crazy! And all the buttons on the TV and Cable remotes are so small. The Flipper is a game changer. Everything with 3 easy buttons: On/Off, Volume and Channel. He can now enjoy his TV with any assistance. Thank you Flipper!

I've purchased a number of remotes for my mother, and finally, one she can use, hooray! UNBELIEVABLE, the difference it makes in her mood and outlook, to have some autonomy and control. She is legally blind and has dementia, but even if she were totally blind, she could use it (to listen to the TV). Other remotes presented so many buttons that my mom was overwhelmed by them. This one has only six, and by their placement, it was an easy matter for her to learn their functions. I showed her, made sure she knew where the power button was, learned that one. She was confused when I tried to teach her the other buttons, so I told her: "Mom, you can't do any harm by experimenting. Just play around with it- push a button, and if it doesn't do what you want, try another one, until you find something you like" and that's what she did (I don't know if that sank in or helped, that's what she seemed to do naturally anyway. The important thing, I think, was encouraging her to experiment). The beauty of the design is that the buttons have been pared down to only those that actually do something tangible. If she hits mute, it mutes. Or, the channel is changed, or the volume changes. That's it. So learning is nearly automatic, stimulus-response, no thought processes required. She learned the button's functions in a couple of days, on her own, what a BLESSING. We have a large display clock that shows the time, and she knows what time her favorite shows are on, such as Jeopardy and Judge Judy. I programmed in her favorite channels (takes time and patience, but it was worth it), excluding all the foreign language channels that discombobulate her so, along with ones she never watches, and she just pushes the channel up or channel down button until she sees/hears Judge Judy or whatever. The Flipper's makers seem to have thought of everything. Depending on your situation, you can program the Power button to operate either the TV or the STB [Set Top Box], or both at the same time. The volume and Mute buttons work with the TV, the Channel buttons work with the STB and NOT the TV (on our old universal remote half the time it changed the STB's channel, half the time it changed the TV's channel, taking it off of channel 3, impossible). That's if you're using the Flipper with both an STB and a TV. The flipper also has a TV only mode, if you plan to use it with a TV alone, in which case all the buttons work with the TV. Another thing I specifically wanted to mention is that our Magnavox STB's remote doesn't have a dash (-) or dot (.) button, you tune offset channels by waiting a moment until the dot appears after what you've entered, for example, if you enter 56, you wait a beat, a dot appears after the 56 in the corner of the screen, you can then enter a 2 or 3 or whatever to get 56.2 or 56.3. Obviously, this is challenging enough, even for me (you must be quick), totally impossible for my mom. I wondered how this would work in programming the Flipper. The programming keys on the Flipper remote includes a dash (-) key, and using it accomplished the same thing, worked with our STB! When you push that key, it adds the dot or dash and you can then enter the next digit, immediately. I'm talking about the Flipper's programming buttons, when you're setting up the favorite channels. Once these channels are programmed in, no-one ever needs to worry about this issue again. The biggest issue to note is that although generally the owner's manual for the Flipper is specific and detailed, excellent, clear language, occasionally they leave out a step. As I get older I find it more challenging to do these things, I'm less intuitive and must follow instructions to the letter, so a missed step really screws me up. So, when you're doing this, anywhere where it specifies a number of steps in a procedure, just make sure you repeat them all if needed. For example, when you're entering the code for your TV brand, the owner's manual says if the code doesn't work, try the next one. To do that [AS I REMEMBER- I'm not about to do it again, undo all my hard work to double-check], I believe you need to go back to the 2nd step, "Press and hold TV until the light turns solid" before trying the next code. I may be mistaken about this specific example, just bear this in mind when programming, if what you're doing doesn't seem to be working. There were at least two instances in which I got stuck, and it was because steps needed to be repeated and that wasn't specifically stated. One other issue- at least with our Magnavox box, if you hit channel up or channel down too quickly, before the channel has actually changed, it adds the digits to the digits already entered and the box will return with "invalid channel", showing nothing on the TV screen. So I've explained to my mom to wait between presses, wait until the channel actually changes, before hitting the button again. "Slow down, Mom." That worked. Finally, if you happen to own a Homeworx STB and over-the-air DVR (LOVE IT)- I hoped this remote would work with it, but it didn't, unfortunately. If you have one, you might see the end of my Aug. 7th review of it (link below), for an explanation of how one CAN use the Flipper with a different STB AND the Homeworx unit together (along with a ROKU box, provided you have auxiliary jacks), for folks with cognitive or sensory deficits. The Flipper is the best, fantastic, WHATEVER you use it with, has provided my mom a measure of freedom and autonomy so sorely missed, needed- invaluable. Highest recommendation!

For several years my mother had not been able to pilot the tv due to dementia. The number of buttons were confusing and too small to maneuver. Everything became an even more difficult with the cable controller. I tried other controllers, called the cable company in search for a controller that would work for Mom. I gave this controller a try, it worked and Mom can actually use! The secret sauce with this controller is if you have technical problems (and I always seem to) you can call and get a direct connection to perhaps the kindest most helpful business owner I have ever dealt with- offering up assistance on Saturday and after hours if needed, sending a website explaining certain settings on my TV. INCREDIBLE! Every assisted living facility should have these for their residences!

Bought this for my 93 year old mother in law who was constantly turning off her Dish box and TV accidently. Every time we had to drive 35 miles to fix things. Her TV was also ancient. I purchased a new very cheap small tv (we were replacing her kitchen tv) and the Flipper. Brought them out to her place and turned everything on. My own remote skills stink so I called support and they were right on top of things for me. No recording with multiple options or screaming at a chat bot assistant. Got an actual human, real nice guy who asked me a few questions about the tv and then provided me some guidance and got the remote working. He also sent me a text with a link that allowed me to set the tv so it came on directly to the last channel she was watching as opposed to the confusing smart tv home screen (she doesn't stream). Had my "mom" turn it on and off a few times as well as do the volume and channels, she loved it. It turns the Dish box and the TV on and off with one push of one button. It also changes the Dish box channels. If you have a senior that finds the remote (s) challenging then don't hesitate to buy the Flipper. For that matter I might get one myself. So nice to only deal with three buttons!! Can't thank Dan enough (he sent me the text) for the personal care and service.
