These poles are easily adjustable, stable and are sturdy. The only difficulty is that adjusting the clamp can be difficult.

These Mons Peak IX carbon fiber poles are #1 in my book. I'm an experienced hiker and have used many different brands over the years. These poles top them all. They are lightweight, super strong, and durable. The lever/lock is extremely stable and easy to use when adjusting the poles for uphill, downhill, or river/creek crossings. I've used them on a variety of different environments, from Utah desert to ice caves in Greenland. The ultimate test was a trip last summer in the Canadian Rockies on one of the most treacherous trails I've ever hiked because of the massive blow-downs, the result of an especially snowy winter and windstorms. Many of my trail mates also used the Mons Peak IX carbon fiber poles on that trip, and we were mighty thankful we had them.

I got the poles on July 6th Since the purchase have done Pyramid Peak and four pass lop in Aspen CO. During 4 pass loop (25 miles 12000 vertical feet)the tip feel as the terrain can be rough. I called the manufacturer and had a chance to speak with the owner. He was very helpful and is mailing a replacement part under warranty. i highly recommend the carbon poles

We trail-tested the Mons Peak IX Tiger Paw Carbon Trekking Poles to see how they did on an autumn trail in Marshfield. Kept balance on a beam. Pole-vaulted over a stream. Kept a quick pace up and down the root-covered trails. Nice cork grip - very comfortable. Overall thumbs up! Check out our trail-test video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnVtaSdcYyE

I love these poles! They are light and easy to handle. The grips are very comfortable, the shape of the tops is good for "palming" the pole, and the grip extends downward, so you can choke up on the uphill pole when sidehilling. The lever-lock system is my favorite method for adjusting pole length. It's easy to use and holds securely. These poles are worth the money. Not only that, but customer service from Mons Peak IX is excellent.

The Tiger Paw Carbon trekking poles have been with me on every hike of 2019, on and off trail, and will continue to join me from here on out. Light weight, comfortable grip, super sturdy design and durable construction are just a few of the reasons I will be sticking with these poles. Add in the amazing customer service I have received from Mons Peak IX and you have an all around winner in my opinion. Best do-it-all trekking poles on the market!

I love these poles, prior owner of Walmart aluminum poles, Black Diamond Trail Trekking poles (gave to my son), Much lighter than my old setup with 8.5 ozs per pole verses my old setup at 10 ozs per pole. Beautiful 3K carbon fiber weave, love the red aluminum locking levers. The customer service answered on the 2nd ring, when I called to ask questions, got to speak with a polymer engineer!!! (Owner) - sourced in one day! Moderate vibration, well damped by the cork grips. You can read full review here https://backpackinglight.com/lightweight-trekking-poles-gear-guide I love these poles and can't wait to get on the trail to test them with my tent setup - just hope my son doesn't take them! Best part are the Cork grips and the paddled palm rests... Highly Recommended.

www.backpackgeartest.org - Global backpacker - Kathy Waters - Excerpts After two more months of using the Mons Peaks IX Tiger Paw Carbon Trekking Poles, I am even more impressed with how well they are made. I have never felt like the poles were weighing me down or that my arms were getting sore from the weight. And I really "pound" and lean on my trekking poles. I like to tell everyone that using trekking poles vigorously burns calories (it does!) but the real reason is to keep me from taking nose-dives. While on bumpy - and not so bumpy - trail sections of the Colorado Trail recently, my trail buddy often heard me stumble over a tree root, errant rock or even my own two feet, but never was that stumble followed by a "thud!" As I hit the ground. Thank you, Tiger Paws! Often times with (other) trekking poles, after a lot of usage, the telescoping mechanism gets sloppy or becomes hard to use. Not so with the Tiger Paws. After four months of near daily usage, I can still glide the sections of the poles into my desired height and those sections stay in place until I release the grips and squish them down. I'm also happy to say that I haven't lost the tightening screws either! While I haven't had to use the poles as defensive weapons yet, when backpacking/hiking I do keep them close to my side even when sleeping. And when that bear was rummaging for raspberries next to our tent on the Colorado Trail, I sure was clutching the Tiger Paws hoping they would live up to their name!

From www.backpackgeartest.org - 23 year veteran and seasoned backpacker -- David Wilkes ---- Excerpts .......On the camping trips the poles were tossed into the back of my truck with assorted stuff including some bricks and blocks of firewood. While the poles were not used on these trips I would note that they did receive somewhat routh treatment against the bricks and wood. Now that the test period has come to an end I have looked over the poles for signs of wear or damage and aside for slight signs of use on the cork handles a few minor scratches in the plastic (primarily on the very end of the poles from using them as tent poles) and very minor signs of use on the carbide tips the poles look almost brand new. In addition to being light, comfortable and very functional, I can add durable to the list of features. In addition to the approximately 14mi (22.5km) of use backpacking, I would estimate I have used these poles for about anther 10 miles for day use (day hikes & dog walks). I can say without reservation that these quickly became my favorite poles. I have no intention of using any other poles for hiking/backpacking and am looking forward to the coming winter when I plan to get a lot of use out of these for snowshoeing. Likes: Light weight, low vibration, easy to adjust, comfortable Dislikes: None

I invested in these poles to take on my first backpacking trip ever and was not disappointed. I have done many extreme day hikes in the past using competitor poles but decided that it was time to upgrade for a longer 5 day trip. Being carbon fiber, these poles are very lightweight and the cork handle add another level of comfort. I have used poles in the past with a synthetic handle which just does not feel as good against the hand for long periods of time in conjunction with sweat. In addition, these poles are extremely easy to adjust which comes in handy for quick changes on the trail to adjust to different terrain. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

i bought these direct from the manufacturer. They are extremely well made and light. I have used a lot of poles and these are top notch. I like the thicker shaft (stiffness), the metal clamps, and the extended grip.
