More Lotion Than Butter
As a professional beauty writer living in the SoCal desert, my skin is dry, dry, dry. Add in menopause and chronically sore feet, and you have the perfect test candidate for a CBD-based body butter. Melach 33s Luxe CBD Body Butter is pricey at $74 for 8 ounces, so I had high expectations for its performance. Heres what I learned:CBD Benefits May Not Be Noticeable: I love CBD products and have multiple muscle creams, oils, and tinctures in my arsenal. I used the Melach 33 Body Butter from head to toe and as a muscle treatment on more active days (i.e. 5+ miles walking, etc.). In terms of reducing inflammation or quelling muscle aches, I didnt experience any benefits. It makes me sad because there is full spectrum CBD in here, and that usually does the trick. I think 1000mgs in an 8 ounce formula is probably the problem. Most of my CBD muscle products have 2000mg per 4 oz. jar.Lovely for Immediate Hydration: The inclusion of hyaluronic acid makes this butter feel more like a lotion. It also aids in the absorption, which is surprisingly quick for a body butter. Texturally, this is a thick lotion without the typical waxy feeling associated with body butter. I love it when applied to damp skin, but it didnt keep my skin hydrated very long. Even under long-sleeved shirts, I could tell my skin was thirsty. And while it didnt meet my bodys needs, I love it on my feet because it absorbs fast and doesnt leave them sticky.Closing Thoughts: This has a definite scent, which some have described as soapy, and once the lotion/butter absorbs that scent does remain. Upon application, its quite refreshing, but Im not a big fan of the lingering scent. All in all, its a nice product, but I expect longer lasting hydration from a body butter and a more noticeable reduction in inflammation or muscle aches from a CBD product.
