Written for teens, this old codger still found Bright Light enjoyable, engaging, and hard to put down. Riley is a typical teen, wants to be popular, is concerned about what puberty will do to him, and wants to avoid the bullies. He wants to do the right thing, but sometimes that's difficult. When he double crosses some bullies, even his best friend turns on him. Facing four against one, he is helpless as they deliver a savage beating to him and his dog, Lulu. Then bright lights scare them away and Riley's adventure begins. I don't want to say more and spoil some of the surprises Monique has in store for you. However, there are aliens, spacecraft, other galaxies, science, and so much more. This is a well crafted tale that is more drama than science fiction, but is still good science fiction. There are twists that will have you navigating outside our solar system and into our prehistoric past. 'nuf said, read the book and get the whole story. You'll never see your dog the same way again.
