After belatedly discovering the benefits of hoodie (and overcoming my reticence to look like a gang banger at 65), I searched the world over for a 100% merino wool hoodie, as synthetics and cotton are simply inferior for this type of garment, which may see some precipitation, especially here in the USA. This is the only merino hoodie I have found, and I'm quite pleased with it. It isn't too thick or heavy, but it is tight woven, wind resistant and warm. I even wear it as a shirt; it is so comfortable against my skin. It doesn't have the same stiff hand, or feel, as a typical knit fleece synthetic, but this is the nature of wool knits, so I don't recommend going for a baggy fit; it works better as a tighter fit. It would be nice to maybe have a drawstring on the hood, but the fabric is so stretchy and limp, this may not work well. I'm 5' 6" and the small is just a tad large on me, but still fine. Highly recommended!

The Jacob Zip Hoodie with pockets was purchased in August as a gift for my husband's birthday. I was surprised at how quickly this item was packaged and posted, arriving 12 days before his birthday! My husband only received this beautiful gift yesterday so has yet to wear it, but expressed his sincere "thank you". Our daughter commented that it looked like such a warm hoodie and would keep him really warm. I have purchased numerous merino wool items in the past, however, I am a first time Aklanda customer.
