I was looking around at the usual steam sterilizers when I came across this. At the time of writing, this item appears to be only 1 of 2 period cup UV Sterilizers on Amazon, this one being better priced, even with the included cups. It did take me a while to settle on this one, mostly because its product page doesn't have too many photos of the item with included accessories - and I also wanted to know if it included a UV test strip (info nowhere on that). So to help anybody else out who might be looking at this, I've added a whole bunch of photos - the box, UV Sterilizer, accessories.A USB cord is included, along with a UV test strip that says "UV WORKS" which is slightly visible in white text -- the text turns purple after letting it sit in the UV light for a bit, and fades quickly after it's taken out. So looks like it's all good there! It's not rechargeable (not that it states this at all, but just in case that's what you were thinking); the USB cord is needed to power the item, unless you want to use batteries. My only gripe is that the UV lights do not automatically shut off when you open the lid; you have to remember to long-press the button to shut it off manually, in case you wanted to open it before its auto shut off. But not a big deal, I was just opening it early because I was testing the UV strip.I don't have much to say about the cups, as I haven't tried them yet. But they do seem nice and squishy! There are a bunch of reviews for them anyway in its own product page. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this - I only wish all this info was already here to begin with, so I didn't waste so much time deciding whether this was just as good as the other, pricier UV Sanitizer! :)

The significant other thinks this is a very smart and useful device. She said it's a good improvement over steam sterilization machines. It's a high tech solution, that effectively kills germs quickly (2 minutes).Operation is very simple and easy. Merely place your object into the cavity. Close the top, which activates the UVC light. After 2 minutes, the sterilization process is completed. We like the modern design, with a simple, minimalist appearance. it's very smartly designed, with quality materials and construction. There's 5 UVC LEDs in the inside roof of the top and a single UVC LED on the bottom of the cavity.Another great aspect is the powering method. It includes a usb power cord which can power the sterilization device. Another option is inserting three AA batteries, making this a very portable device. Batteries are not included, however that does not affect the ratings (since it was noted in the product details). To test the product, she put a kegel device inside (it fit easily). Upon closing the top, it activated. And, after the two minutes, the light turned off. She removed the kegel device, confident that it was germ free. By the way, we chose to use the usb cable to power it for the test. This can be used to UVC sterilize any object that fits into the cavity. Just be aware that the UVC light will only affect surfaces that receives the light. So, a surface that is covered/hidden will not be afforded the benefits of UVC exposure. We are both impressed with the design and function of this product. It definitely satisfies our expectations. It easily earns a 4.75 star rating, with a very high level recommendation.

The Menstrual Cups are of similar quality to Diva Cups - there's no complaints there, just a difference in size/dimensions slightly - you get two different sizes. The UV sterilizer comes with a UV Test Paper, which is neat. I tested this paper on a different device that I trust to actually have UV output, and it worked for that (at least not a false negative...). The included cable is 19 inches long, and will require a USB-A power supply. At first, I couldn't get it to work on a cable, but after messing around, I realized that you have to really push the cable in all the way flush with the housing. It turns on with NiMH batteries - while it probably was running dimmer than it normally does, I certainly couldn't tell. It still lit up brilliantly blue. The safety mechanism that makes sure the lid is closed when the light is on is more complicated than just two push-pins - it's not something a young kid could defeat easily. There are 5 lights on top, and one on bottom, so the whole cup should be bathed in UV light, though the sides will not get done as well as the top will.I think this is a neat device, that will be useful for other things too, like Binkies/Pacifiers, Bottle Nipples, etc... $30 is a good deal, in my opinion.

I was really skeptical in buying this product only because it has a few reviews; considering it has been out for about a year.I did read up on a review and had similar disputes about the product.First I will tell you what I love about this item, I love it’s small design making it easy to store or carry with you (16.9fl.oz water bottle for comparison). I also love that it is battery powered as well as USB. You may not always have an outlet where ever you go but having a battery powered option is a certain thumbs up, especially if you have a hard time keeping track of all your cords.Unfortunately, the automatic shut off did not happen for me. I had to hold the bottom button down to shut off after timing the 2 minutes. As soon as closing the sterilizer, it turns on with out me even turning it on.I have not tried the cups yet, I’m currently waiting to start my cycle to try them but the cups seem to be in great condition with two size options, one small for light flows and one large for heavier flows.Overall, if the sanitizer would have done like the features promised it would do (automatic shuts off) this item would be great - still a work in progress

Carecup Menstrual Cup UV Light Sterilizer - Compact, Minimalist, Modern Portable Steamer & Sanitizer - 2-Minute Automatic Sterilization + 2 CupsThis device has eliminated the hassle of keeping a dedicated set of a pan and utensils for boiling my cups, and significantly reduced cup cleaning time! It's such an efficient device, and I like how it has two powering options of USB or three AAA batteries. This sterilizer is excellent for travel, simple and quick to use, and is discreet as to its purpose. It's easy to operate, and the unit came with a reusable test strip that turns purple when the sterilizer is working, but you need to check that strip fast, as the writing fades quickly. The unit turns off when opening, once the pins that the lid presses down are released. I love that I can sterilize all of my cups in less time that I used to take to boil them, and can have a sterile one with the utmost ease when needed. The cups are very comfortable! I received this set just in time to try them out. The sizes are different than the ones I normally wear- the small is almost as big as my large cups, and the large cup is slightly bigger than my large. The largest cup is great for heaviest flow days, and I have no issues wearing either size in this set. These cups have less of a pronounced ridge at the top than my normal set, which I find is a better fit for me, and they both set into place more easily than others I've used.I prefer the drop tail on these to the rectangular strip tails that I'm used to- it's thick where it attaches to the cup, is very strong and doesn't stretch a lot, and is easy to grip, making removal go more smoothly.I love this sterilizer and cup set, and am very happy with it entirely!

This is a very nice UV cup sterlizer, that came with two bonus menstrual cups! YAY! So far it works really well, I used the test strip first and it worked, then sterilized my cup and all systems are running properly. I also really like that this sterilizer is very small and can be used with a cord or with batteries inserted into the bottom. I have the carecup steamer as well and in the photos you can see the size difference. I think I will keep this as a travel sterilizer for my menstrual cups and keep the steamer as my at home use. To be honest, I think I prefer the steamer to the sterilizer. Its probably just a mental thing, but I like seeing the residual water after the steamer to know that the job has been done. UV works to sterilize but I still always feel like I don’t know if its really clean or not. Plus the UV gives the sterilizer a weird heat afterwards and makes me feel nervous to touch the machine. Not a heat like I’ll be burned but like maybe its a little dangerous to be messing with UV a lot. So I’ll use it sparingly. My one complaint is that the lid doesn’t just pop open, you have to use to hands and click the button to pop/pry it open.

I received this kit of Menstrual Cups and Sterilizer and I was happy to try it.After years of using pads and tampons, I was a little skeptical about trying this cup at first. I was having a little bit if a hard time figuring it out how to insert it, but after using it a few times I find it super simple and great for the environment. I don't know why this wasn't invented before. The price is reasonable. The sterilizer has a good compact size and you can store the menstrual cups inside of it. It is easy and quick to use. When using the sterilizer you need to have the cable connected to an outlet. You press button and wait, the light shuts off on it's own. I can't tell if the sterilizer really works though. I always wash the menstrual cups after using it, but sometimes it can leave a slight smell to it. After using the sterilizer I did not see much of a difference to the smell unless you disinfect it with hot water, so it's difficult to tell if it really sterilized it.

I've been using cups instead of tampons for years now, and the only downside they have is the potential to cause infections if they're not properly cleaned. I've only had this happen once thankfully - I was camping and wasn't able to sterilize my cup properly - and I sure wish I'd had this little device then! I LOVE that it has the option to either plug in or power it with batteries, meaning it can be taken absolutely anywhere. It's very compact, about the size of a soda can, and so easy to travel with. I'll use it as a last step when I'm cleaning my cup - it's not a substitute for an actual wash, of course, but it's a wonderful safeguard to make sure your cup doesn't harbor any bacteria or other nasties. I like to wash my cups with an adult toy cleaner meant for silicone (often cheaper and easier to find than cup-specific cleansers), and then use this UV sanitizer as a final step to make sure they're clean before I put them away for the month. It only takes 2 minutes to work and is effortless to use - and also much more discreet than boiling, microwaving or steaming. Now that I have it, it's an essential! The cups included with it are also really nice. The small size is very similar in size, shape and material to another cup I already own (the June cup). It's very comfortable for me and I've never had any issues with leaks or failure to seal. It's a medium-firm silicone, but still soft enough to be very comfortable to wear. I don't notice it at all most days! The medical-grade silicone is a body-safe material, and it comes with 2 different sizes so there's sure to be one that fits you - or give one to a friend who's on the fence about investing in a cup of their own.

Well I'll be

I had been using a steam cleaner for my cups so when I saw this UV light one, I knew I needed to get it. It's so much more sanitary and gets the cup truly clean. It's a small, portable box with a micro USB charger. It's super easy to use and gives me the peace of mind to know that it's always going to be clean!

- Easy to use. All you do is press the button- It automatically switches off when done- Doesn't look like a sterilizer (it looks like a white rectangular device) so it causes no embarrassment- Uses a USB cable. It comes with one but I use my own cable and it works just fine- Came with 2 cups (small and large). They are medium density. A bit softer than the Luna cup but not as soft as SaaltI would buy again. Really easy to use and works well.

Update:12/6/22- the disinfector case is still amazing and I use it every month, I want to just give a warning to anyone who uses an IUD- the suction is STRONG with this cup so make sure you PINCH and pinch well because this cup sucked my IUD out. I didn’t even know until after it was out.I originally bought it for the case that disinfects- I figured the cups were a bonus cause I had just thrown out my diva cup for failing me miserably for the last year after being a faithful customer since 2015-The one complaint I have is that the charging plug on the case immediately broke and fell into the inside never to be seen again- thankfully it takes batteries!I love the case and it keeps the nice and clear.THIS CUP IS THE MOST AMAZING CUP EVER. It’s a bit bigger than the diva cup and has a better tail to grab. Completely sealed. No leakages and for someone who has a heavier period this will really make sure you’re covered throughout the night while you sleep. I FRIGGIN LOVE IT.

This was great no more struggling with the straight points. The ball at the end add so much extra grip to remove it's great. Sturdy silicon and easy application.
