I bought this figuring there would be good pics of Homer, and there are! The pics in the paperback versions of her books are grainy and poor quality, so these were a welcome sight. Plus, more of them. Also interesting background letters and emails.

Always love a story written by Gwen Cooper and a Homer tale and cohorts or one or two in the mix is always welcome. Gwen is beloved by fans for her ability through her storytelling to make Homer and many of her other cats throughout the years ever since Homer’s Odyssey came out to become so very real to the reader and almost like they are in Gwen’s shoes. You laugh and cry with her and cheer and this book is no exception. Cheer you will and laugh as well letting out a tear here and there. Gwen can really write for her audience- animal lovers!!!

This book allowed never-before-seen photos from author Gwen Cooper of Homer and his sisters Scarlett & Vashti along with photos of siblings Fanny and Clayton who arrived before Homer’s passing. Great companion book for Gwen’s books!

I have never read a book by Gwen Cooper that I didn't love! This one is particularly fun since she shares pictures of Homer, Vashti and Scarlet, plus her present kitties, Clayton and Fanny and family pics. It's fun to see how her life loooks in pictures.

If you love Homer... you will LOVE this book... I originally "read" about Homer on audio books so I never got to see all the pix that were in the original book... Great pix of Homer as a kitten and all his family and how they grew. It is a great way to celebrate Homer and his "hooman" who never gave up on him, even through 9/11... what a wonderful homage to an amazing kitty!!

When I first read "Homer's Odyssey," 10 years ago, I was utterly charmed by the antics of the tiny blind cat. For the first time since childhood, I slept with a book under my pillow. It was just that special. I wanted to be able to touch it. I know, that sounds odd coming from a middle-aged woman. Yet, it's the absolute truth. I followed Homer on Facebook, and eventually had the honor of meeting Gwen Cooper in person. Gwen had shared her precious pets (her other two kitties were Scarlett and Vashti ... and eventually there were also Clayton and Fanny) with all of us and, honestly, I felt like Homer was almost one of *our* household. I was angered when people would post to Homer's fan page about how Gwen shouldn't share his picture; his lack of eyes bothered them. Yet, it never bothered homer. As Gwen said in the book, love isn't something you see with your eyes. Homer's passing devastated Gwen, her husband, and her fans. Yet, we all tried to do some good in the world. "Homer's Heroes" helped get cats adopted, raise funds for animal shelters and more. So it was that, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the book that brought Homer into so many households, Gwen decided to create and share this beautiful scrapbook. Personal photographs, new notes, and more adorn the 100 colored pages. I smiled and I cried (there are some poignant new stories inside). I loved it. Thank you, Gwen Cooper, for again sharing your precious pets with all of us.

Gwen Cooper is a wonderful writer, and she could make a cat lover out of a cat hater! Her love for her felines is infectious. This book was a look back at wonderful years with Homer and her other kitties. I cried in several places, and most especially when I had finished it! However, I plan to revisit it soon! Thanks, Gwen!
