I’m always excited when a new book by Gwen Cooper comes out, because it guarantees hours of entertainment from an exquisite writer who knows and understands cats. Her new book celebrates everything that’s wonderful about cats, told in Gwen’s trademark heartwarming and often humorous style.
Gwen got the idea for the book earlier this year, just before the world started to shut down, while browsing through a bookstore and spotting the New York Times bestseller The Book of Awesome: Snow Days, Bakery Air, Finding Money in Your Pocket, and Other Simple, Brilliant Things. “From a marketing perspective it was a perfect title, insofar as I immediately and intuitively grasped what the book was about,” writes Gwen in the foreword to her book. “And, just as immediately, I wondered, why isn’t there a Book of PAWsome about cats? And so it was that this book was born.”
From cats wiggling their butts before they pounce to seeing your cat sleeping in a sun puddle to bringing home a new toy that your cat will actually play with, this little book reminds us that even in a world turned upside down, cats will always give us a reason to smile.
Interspersed with charming illustrations, this uplifting treasure of a book is a must have for cat lovers. At a time when there’s so much bad news everywhere, The Book of PAWSOME offers the purrfect respite from the outside world.
