I've gone through so many surgeries and sprained ankles where I've had to rest my foot on a pillow to elevate it, but my doctor this time suggested an elevation pillow. This one has changed my post-surgery recovery forever. Maybe that's a bit of a hyperbole, but I love this pillow. It is shaped really well to elevate my leg(s) without strain on my hips, and the dip is big enough to hold both legs just for added comfort (but also the pillow is small enough that I can push it to the side and only have one leg elevated). I keep this pillow in my bed and use a smaller one in my recliner, and I really feel the difference when using this pillow. It's so much more comfortable and easy to use than normal pillows. There are also a couple handles at various points on the pillow to make it easy to grab and readjust beneath covers. One downside is that even with the grippier fabric on the bottom of the pillow, I did manage to kick it out of the end of my bed the first night I used it. However, I put a bed rail on the foot of my bed and that's held it in place ever since. If you keep your blankets tucked in at the bottom or have a high footboard, that won't be a problem for you. In addition to all the surgical benefits, my cats have decided that this pillow is their throne. When I'm not using it (and sometimes when I am), they climb the ramp and curl up between the raised sides and just purr at me. Height, support, edges, no need to jump... it works well for pets as well as humans!

I just had hip replacement surgery a week ago. And this is a God-send. In the past when doctors have said “elevate” I’ve commandeered the firmest bed pillows from everyone in the household, then stacked them and tried to rest while elevating. Results? Little time elevating and no time resting. The pillows toppled again and again, leg fell off or sunk below where my heart was, pillows had to be re-stacked repeatedly, lower back hurt, didn’t know what to do with other leg so kept changing (on pillows, off pillows)) But THIS THING solved all those issues. Brilliant. So glad I invested in it. No doubt will use it post surgery as well, simply for lower back pain relief.

This is a super-comfortable leg pillow! If you are on your feet a lot, have back problems, or are having surgery on the lower body, you need this. The height is perfect and the upper surface is long enough for knees and feet to be on the same level. The cover is soft and washable (although I haven't washed it yet). The only thing I didn't like is it has a slight chemical smell that dissipates within 12 hours. Edit: This pillow also has a raised edge to keep your legs from falling off. Just a great buy.

I fell years ago and damaged some nerves in my right leg, and it became almost impossible to get a good night's sleep because of tingling pains. This has made a world of difference in my life. At first, I thought it might be too confining, but have had no problems sleeping at all while using it. The only negative thing I can think of to say is that it doesn't come with a washable cover so had to make one myself. It is big, but not heavy, so it is easy to move around if you desire.
