This is a perfect addition to my backcountry kit.

For any one looking for an “alternative” to water bladders, you’ve got it all wrong. This should be your first choice. Water bladders should be the alternative and only for niche applications. I recently purchased two of these and put them on 1.5L Nalgene’s. Spent 1 week in the mountains camping, hiking and hunting and these never failed and the added usability of having two massive bottles in camp greatly outweighs the perceived benefits of a water bladders. Also, no leaks. On my bag or in it for that matter. MUST BUY!

I’ve been using the swig rig since bow season through the end of lion season in Montana (fall through winter). I only had one issue with the straw freezing on me (it was -10 )probably not the right condition for any water system . It has been a great addition to my kit from the ease of cleaning to the quick access if I’m looking for a big gulp after an extremely long hike( can’t do that with a bladder). Case in point while on a lion hunt my partner’s both forgot there water and it was simple enough to unscrew the lid and pass the water bottle to them instead of them using the straw. Just a great product. I like it so much I have purchased 4 more. Dane and Dustin are great guys to work with also.

I loved hiking with a bladder, until I had to filter water. This makes life much easier when you have to filter. I filter right into the nalgene and still have all the convenience of a bladder/straw. Love it!!!

Bought this and the insulation sleeve for USAR deployments, just got back for working Hurricane Idalia and loved this set up over a bladder. Could unscrew the swig and use my triton bottle around around the camp, when going out on missions just screw it back on and ready to go. I used the insulated straw from my CamelBak with it, and carabineer to my pack. I leave the nalgene lid hanging for when I just need my water bottle elsewhere. It worked out well.

My friends and I did a lazy river day tubing on the Mokelumne River. The temp was over 100F, so I wanted ice cold water. The swig rig worked great. I used an old hydration hose, and my hydroflask was tethered to the tube. I just grabbed the hose whenever I wanted a drink. My water including refills was cold all day long.

There are pros and cons to water bottles and water bladders. The Swig 63 paired with a Nalgene Wide Mouth Ultralite Bottle gives you the best of both worlds. The convenience of a bladder for drinking on the go. The durability of a water bottle so you never worry about a hole or leak. Easier to clean than a bladder. Easier to fill from a water filter. It works with pretty much any pack. Great product!

I have previously purchased two other brands of "Nalgene" style water bottle drinking hose adapters. Both worked at least a little but had their limitations. The first brand attached the hose with an adapter (though not very well) to part of the pre-existing lid once the sipper mouthpiece was removed. It was pretty much a fail as the adapter easily fell off the connector on the lid. The second brand's version is better, however, sticks up excessively once attached and I suspect will be prone to breakage, though on a few outings I have not broken it, just found it to be awkwardly tall. So, I purchased the Hardside Hydration lid adapter (Swig 63). I had plenty of extra hoses, mouthpieces, etc. from other hydration bladders, and pieced together the kit to make it ready. The Swig 63 wins where the others have failed. The hose stays attached and the adapter does not stick up excessively from the lid. I wholeheartedly recommend the Hardside Hydration system either as a whole kit or if you piece it together as I have. I believe the hard sided bottle and hose combo is the best way to hydrate for backpacking as its is easier to fill on the trail, compared to a bladder stuffed inside your pack, and it provides a water bottle to drink from while in camp.

I’d been looking for a way to make my hardsided bottles connect to my hydration hose. This is it. So simple, so easy. All the easy drinking of a hydration pack and none of the leak risk. And I even did an inadvertent test - I went backpacking to the same spot twice this summer. The first time, I was using just bottles and arrived at the lake dizzy and exhausted - and only drank maybe 16 ounces on the way in. The second time, carrying gear for an extended stay (12.5 lbs more), I had my Swig 63 connected to my old hydration hose - and drank all 48 ounces on the way up without thinking about it. Got there faster and felt like myself when I arrived. I’m sold 100% - it’s a great product and I’m really glad I found it.
